SLN supports schools, local authorities and non-governmental organisations to explore the concepts of identity, diversity, equality and community.

Through a combination of practical support, training and excellent online resources we provide carefully designed school linking programmes.

Why School Linking?

  • A vehicle for the development of a positive and inclusive school ethos
  • A model of experiential learning and reflective practice; a proven powerful way to enhance learning
  • Partnership working between schools and their local community
  • Partnership working between schools, sharing best practice
  • Develops children and young people’s critical thinking skills and understanding of social responsibility.

Our school linking programmes are uniquely shaped to suit the needs of each individual organisation or district, whilst following a set of proven principles that underpin successful linking work.

Drawing on ten years of experience, we support and guide you through every step of the process of linking, from initial set up to evaluation. We help you to identify desired outcomes at the start of the programme and guide you through the preparation work with your own class, school and community, actual meeting days between schools, and onto deeper conversations within and between the linked communities.

Our CPD training is offered to local authority advisors, primary, secondary and special school teaching staff, as well as to teachers from post-16 settings and other educational organisations. We also work with schools to develop a stronger community focus and ethos with greater local connection to the community they serve. Bespoke training is also available on request.
