Facilitator Training

SLN continues to support local authorities in their duty to promote community cohesion and integration in schools and other parts of the community.

The ideal way to access this support is to send a local coordinator on our facilitator training course. Our courses explore identity, diversity, equality and community and equip local authority advisors and other facilitators to support teachers and school leaders to run their own school linking programmes. We provide materials, resources and tried and tested models of working.

The intensive training provides a comprehensive and challenging immersion in the current approach to community cohesion and integration, and includes workshops on school linking planning, use of resources, visits to work in progress, and how projects can best be evaluated.

We respond to every local authority and organisation according to its individual needs. Following your three days of training, based on your initial audit of need, you will be able to put in place some of the processes explored.

In addition to receiving on-going support, you will be invited to a review day and an annual event where you will be able to share your experiences with other local authorities and organisations, as well as have access to the most up-to-date information and resources in the field.
