LA facilitator training
SLN supports local authorities in their duty
to promote community cohesion in schools and other parts of the
community. The ideal way to access this support is to send a local
coordinator on our LA facilitator training course.
Our course explores identity, diversity,
equality and community and equips you to support teachers and
school leaders to run their own community cohesion programmes. We
provide materials, resources and tried and tested models of
working.
The intensive training course includes
workshops on community cohesion, how effective linking days are
planned, visits to work in progress, and how projects can best be
evaluated. It provides a comprehensive and challenging immersion in
the current approach to community cohesion.
In addition to this training, SLN may be
able to provide LAs with a contribution to a local coordinator
post for 12 months as well as funding to operate a programme with
up to 20 schools for one year.
We respond to every local authority according
to its individual needs. Following your three days of training,
based on your initial audit of need, you will be able to put in
place some of the processes explored. In addition to receiving
ongoing support, you will be invited to a review day and an annual
event where you will be able to share your experiences with other
local authorities and have access to the most up-to-date
information and resources in this field.
