Why do some schools have a button at the bottom of the page and others do not?

SLN’s website tries to cater for both schools looking to link and those that have linked. The site offers schools looking to link a platform to advertise and for those who have linked a platform to share their ideas and experience.

If you are a school looking to link search our network ensuring the actively looking to link button is checked.

What does the actively looking to link check box do on “Your Page” in account management?

The actively looking to link check box determines whether “Express interest in linking with this school” button is displayed or not on “Your Page”. Schools which are looking for linking partners need to ensure that this button is checked.  Once you have established a link through the SLN website this button will be turned off by the administrator and “Your Page” will display your current links, this page should be used as a platform to share your linking work.

If you already have a link before registering it is suggested that either school has this button checked allowing the other school to express an interest, creating your link, this will then appear on “Your Page”

Why do I have current links and current projects on my page?

This feature allows you to tell others who your linking partner is on “Your Page” and links directly to their page from yours and vice versa. Current projects allows you to post  projects onto “Your Page” these could be visits that take place during your linking work or community cohesion projects taking place in school.

When I create a new project under project name is says linking with SLN. What does that mean?

This is the default setting. All registered users are automatically linked with SLN. In simple terms it means you can start adding projects as soon as you have attended CPD.  The “linking with” dropdown will change dependent on how many links you have and where you have attended your CPD. The dropdown will reflect current links on “Your Page”.  This feature allows you the flexibility of adding projects that have taken place with your linking school or independent community cohesion school projects.  The linking with adds the relevant logo to your projects page alongside your school logo.
