Context & Guidance
This section includes a selection of guidance documents, which provide context to SLN programmes.
The New Ofsted Framework and SMSC
The New Ofsted Framework highlights the role of schools in the personal development of pupils which underpins achievement and aspiration. The spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development of children and young people is a significant focus in all lesson observations as well as forming a part of the judgement on overall school effectiveness.
The Equalities Act
The Equality Act 2010 has replaced all existing equality legislation such as the Race Relations Act, Disability Discrimination Act and Sex Discrimination Act. It also provides some changes that schools need to be aware of.
The Cambridge Primary Review
SLN is working with The Cambridge Primary Review to support its aims and principles, placing community at the heart of the primary curriculum.
