Local authorities
Forty local authorities as well as a number
of other organisations are currently (in 2009-10) working with SLN
to establish successful and sustainable district-wide linking
projects.
Current active LAs and cross London organisations:
Barking and Dagenham, Birmingham, Bolton, Bradford, Bristol,
Buckinghamshire, Bury, Calderdale, Cheshire, Cornwall, Coventry,
Cumbria, Derby City, Derbyshire, Gateshead, Gloucestershire, Hull,
Kent, Kirklees, Lancashire, Leeds, Leicester City, London Citizens
Alliance, Luton, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newham, Norfolk, North
London Schools, Northamptonshire, Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire,
Plymouth, Rotherham, Somerset, Stockport, Sunderland, Three
Faiths Forum,Thurrock, Tower Hamlets, Wakefield, Wigan.
These programmes address local issues of identity, diversity,
equality and community and are uniquely shaped to suit the needs of
each district, while following a set of universally proven
principles that underpin successful linking work. There is also a
strong focus on development of children and young people’s skills
and understanding of social responsibility.
