Local authorities
More than thirty local authorities as well as a
number of other organisations are currently (in 2008-9) working
with SLN to establish successful and sustainable district-wide
linking projects.
Current active LAs and cross London organisations:
Barking and Dagenham, Birmingham, Bolton, Bradford, Bristol,
Buckinghamshire, Bury, Cheshire, Cornwall, Coventry, Derby City,
Derbyshire, Gateshead, Gloucestershire, Hull, Kirklees, Lancashire,
Leeds, Leicester City, London Citizens Alliance, Manchester,
Norfolk, North London Schools, Northamptonshire, Nottingham City,
Nottinghamshire, Stockport, Three Faiths Forum, Tower Hamlets,
Wakefield, Wigan.
A further ten LAs will be starting projects in the year
2009-10.
These programmes address local issues of identity, diversity,
equality and community and are uniquely shaped to suit the needs of
each district, while following a set of universally proven
principles that underpin successful linking work. There is also a
strong focus on development of children and young people’s skills
and understanding of social responsibility.
