SLN is working with 20 local authorities across England, and a number of non-governmental organisations, to establish sustainable district-wide school linking programmes.

Bradford
The Bradford programme has been active since 2001. In this school year (2011/2012) 100 individual classes and 78 schools are involved, and there continues to be a waiting list.
Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire started its SLN journey in May 2009 with the aims of promoting good relations between different groups of people living in Buckinghamshire;
Calderdale
The SLN linking programme for Calderdale began in 2010, and was coordinated through the Local Authority Education Department.
Derbyshire
A gateway training day was held in Derbyshire for schools interested in getting involved in local links.
Gateshead
The new academic year saw children from four schools in Gateshead take part in an exciting school linking programme.
Gloucester
Thirteen Gloucester schools and five London schools attended an SLN CPD day in autumn 2011, which was very well received and resulted in six new link partnerships.
Kent
The SLN programme in Kent has been running since 2010, and demonstrates some excellent work. Currently there are 40 schools involved in programme and interest from other schools has been expressed.
Lancashire
The Lancashire schools linking programme was one of the original ‘SLN waves’ and has been running since 2009.
Leicester
Exciting new developments happening in Leicester have seen new links between schools in the city of Leicester and schools in the county of Leicestershire.
Luton
The linking project in Luton, which began in 2010, is an important part of Luton Local Authority’s core delivery.
Milton Keynes
Milton Keynes has worked with SLN since 2010. In the first year of the Milton Keynes programme, 18 schools were involved.
Newham
Newham has worked with SLN since 2010 and today there are 18 classes involved in the linking programme.
NLSIN
‘The North London Schools International Network’ (NLSIN) is a partnership of six authorities: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Harrow & Waltham Forest.
Rotherham
Rotherham joined the SLN programme in 2010, and by 2011/2012 19 schools were involved in the programme;
Somerset
Twenty-five new schools joined the Somerset school linking programme in 2011 / 2012, sixteen of which are rural Somerset schools and nine inner city or urban schools.
Stockport
The SLN programme has been active and growing in Stockport since September 2009.
