Poetry Challenge Guidelines

The SLN Poetry Challenge is open to young people up to the age of 18.

A maximum of one poem per word per student is allowed – two poems will be accepted as long as each one poem centres on a different word.

There are no fixed amounts of words required.

If you would like to illustrate your poem we will take your artworks into consideration.

The SLN Poetry Challenge is held monthly and the closing date for submission is the last day of each month.

The winning entry will be announced during the following month – SLN will contact you by phone or email – so remember to include your contact details with your submission.

Poems should be emailed to lee.scholtz@schoolslinkingnetwork.org.uk

or posted to the following address:

Fao: Lee Scholtz

We regret that we are unable to return any of the poems sent to us – it is advisable to keep a copy of your work.

Please complete and return the consent form, along with your entry – please download a copy of the SLN Poetry Challenge Consent Form 2012 here.

Remember to include your name, age, address, contact number, email address and the name of your school.  Your consent form will need to be signed by your parent or guardian AND a representative from your school.

A selection of poems will be published on the SLN website and the winning applicant will receive a prize – unfortunately we will not be able to publish all of your poems.

Thank you for your interest in the SLN Poetry Challenge … and GOOD LUCK!
